An important step in our sustainability journey, we’ve been ISO 14001 accredited.
We’re pleased to confirm that we have been certified as compliant with ISO 14001. This accreditation marks a significant milestone in our sustainability roadmap as we endeavour to become a B Corp.
Congratulations to all our team for their efforts towards ensuring we met the standard required for this certification.
The next step as part of this ongoing process is to conduct training across our business, for all team members, on our environmental management system. This has already started; the team had some interesting and insightful thoughts on the business’ sustainability commitment which our environmental taskforce will explore further. As we conduct more sessions, we will be adding to our training programme to give everyone in the business full transparency on what measures are happening across the business.
We will also be exploring our metrics further. Our team has started to gather more in-depth data on the emissions produced from our product deliveries, as well as waste reduction at our premises here in Sussex. We can already confirm that no warehouse produced waste is going to landfill. Instead, this waste, which is mostly wood, is processed at a local plant where it is burnt to produce power for the national grid.
There is still a long way for us to go as we strive to become a B Corp, however, being awarded ISO 14001 will reassure our customers that we put the environment at the forefront of our business.
